FocalChange is bringing together humanitarian and development organizations, as well as talented visual storytellers to create positive social change through effective visual communication.

Our experience in the arenas of international development, humanitarian aid efforts, and visual storytelling allows us to connect professionals from both spheres who share a common vision for a better world.

We help to develop and implement visual communication strategies, we manage productions, and we build capacity within organizations to make your visual communication efforts more sustainable.

Zack Arias is one of the top 10 commercial photographers in the United States. He has photographed for brands such as The Coca-Cola Company, IBM, and Panasonic; publications such as TIME, Harvard Business Review, and SPIN; and record labels such as Atlantic Records, Sony Music, and BMI. Zack is in Morocco with FocalChange this month to create imagery for our good friends in Morocco's Center for Development who are working to establish sustainable school bus system in the area.

Zack's honesty in the photography industry over time has awarded him a valued opinion and he has a social media following to prove it.  In fact, he has crashed the sites of companies with a simple thumbs up of a product.

In addition to being a noteworthy visual storyteller and trustworthy voice in the industry, Zack is a downright generous soul. You can often find him making strangers he meets on streets of the world feel at ease at the sight of his camera and guiding young visual storytellers of all backgrounds in all stages of their paths, all the while creating meaningful connections with all humans who come his way.

We are deeply grateful to have Zack on board and are very much looking forward to bringing accessible education to the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco with him!

FocalChange is proud to work with this well-rounded company that is not only working to advance photography, but also invests in education. We are grateful that their support of Zack’s work for a number of years has enabled him to help us make education accessible to all children in the Ouarzazate region of Morocco.

FujiFilm M.E.'s innovative products are perfect for traveling since they are small and light, which is exactly why Zack is taking them on yet another trip of his. And we’re happy - psyched, in fact! - that this trip is with us.

David duChemin is a world & humanitarian assignment photographer, best-selling author, publisher, and international workshop leader. Based out of Victoria, Canada, his mostly-nomadic life is full of adventure and creating compelling photographs on all 7 continents.

When on assignment David creates powerful images that convey the hope and dignity of children, the vulnerable and oppressed for the international NGO community. When creating the art he so passionately shares, David strives to capture the beauty of the natural world.

David's fire to create and share has taken him through winters in Russia and Mongolia, a summer on the Amazon, spending time among nomads in the Indian Himalayan and remote Northern Kenya. He's done assignment work in Ecuador, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Ethiopia, Malawi, DRC, Rwanda, Uganda, Bangladesh, among others, and pursued personal work in places like Iceland, Antarctica, Tunisia, Cuba, Vietnam, Kenya, and Italy.

In November 2017 David will travel with FocalChange to Lesotho to create imagery for a project that seeks to increase young shepherds' access to education and increases awareness about the difficulties they face while working on the land that provides their livelihood.

There's a special place in our hearts for David, whose expertise and encouragement are very much responsible for the birth of FocalChange. We can't wait to share our Lesotho adventure with him - and with you!
